I am completely at a loss right now as to what I should pick as cultural artifacts for the next essay. I think that I need to make the process easier on myself by picking objects that have a relationship that is obvious, and maybe even pick objects whose relationship to nature is obvious. Some various topics that interest me a great deal are: Food production (natural, meat packing, the evolution of American agricultural, seasonal harvest diets), Language acquisition(specifically that infomercial for "Your Baby Can Read"), Women's Issues (body image, societal roles), and Psychology(just about all avenues).
Some possible artifacts would be Food Inc. (the movie), Whole Foods Supermarkets, Chipotle restaurants, McDonald's (some various food item), Fast Food Nation, Super Size Me, King Corn, Your Baby Can Read!, Rosetta Stone, Feminist Perspectives on Eating Disorders, Cosmo, Cosmo-Girl, Psychostimulant drugs, various new therapies, and who knows what else what. I would really like to work on finding a creative artifact but I don't have any particular piecs in mind. The only ones that come to mind right away are some Warhol prints of Marilyn Monroe and Campbell's Soup.
